In the beginning of August our Ausnadians came to stay for a week, which we had been looking very forward to! Uncle Matt getting some niece snuggles.
Auntie Che cuddles, while cousins Edie, Romy, & Milla look on.
The same time our Ausnadian family was here my dear friend Laura, little Luka, and baby to be also from Australia came for a visit. Two Aussie families meeting in Canada!
The girls made fast friends with Luka and they enjoyed some time in the pool.
Setting up the sun shade to put over the pool, quite entertaining apparently.
Luka and Kenna-Rae, new friends.
That evening we went to Miracle Beach to catch what was left of the sand and have a picnic.
Fishing in the pool.
Unfortunately Norovirus hit the house and no one was left unscathed:( Nearly the last to get it was poor little Kenna-Rae. She got through her first hospital stay (birth excluded), and she showed us how strong she is. She handled it better than her mama did, and won the hearts of the nurses on the pediatric ward. We spent 3 days in the hospital while she was given IV fluids and anti-nausea medication to get her re-hydrated.
Once her fluids were back up and she had stopped vomiting we were able to return home. And unfortunately the Ausnadian's trip had come to an end while we were still in the hospital, and they had already hit the road by the time we got home. At least we got one day of fun in the sun together!
Recovery has been slow as the Norovirus hit Kenna-Rae hard given her little digestive system is still so immature. She still hasn't returned to her happy relaxed self, but we are sure she will get there.
Supervising daddy weeding the garden beds.
The colic hold usually does the trick.
Enjoying an evening fire in the backyard, soaking up the last few days of summer.
Daddy and Smudge role modeling rolling over in tummy time.
Luckily she got over her extreme dislike of the car and now quite enjoys it!
Helping with the laundry.
It was a bumpy month, but we got through it and learned a lot! Stay tuned the September post won't be so far away...
