I don't think it's a coincidence that my last post was in October, which was right before our household got hit with Covid:/ Since I mentioned the big C, I will say we all faired well with the actual virus, although that has varied for each of us since. I was hit hard with fatigue and brain fog, and that hasn't returned to my post covid state. Yes, I know we are in the midst of the toddler/preschooler years, but I noticed quite a difference when I got the virus and it simply stayed the same. Since Covid, Kenna-Rae has had a cough that seems to get aggravated when she reaches a certain point of physical activity that hasn't gone away, so we are currently investigating if Covid trigger asthma for her. We have also had cold after cold since, with no more than a few weeks healthy at a time. None of this is making parenting busy little bodies (even busy when sick) any easier, but we are managing (possibly hanging on by a thread at times...).
In the time since, I have come to realize that how on top of blog updates I am, is a good reflection of how I am managing. But as I allow myself to let go of expectations for myself, be kinder to myself and have self-compassion I am finding my way back. I know summer is nearly over but it feels like I should do a little post for May and June, given we have 3 birthdays in that time, and this was the first year we had more 'normal' celebrations. I will share some pictures from Aaron, Kenna-Rae, and Violet's birthdays with are within a 2.5 week time span, and then some highlights from May & June. In a few weeks I will share some pictures of highlights from the summer.
Aaron's birthday (May 16)
Kenna-Rae's birthday (May 17)
We had Kenna-Rae's fav dinner which is pizza, and a watermelon cake
