May 2021

Kenna-Rae turned 2 this month!!! Her last molars continue to work their way up, and she has had an explosion of new words. She loves working on her alphabet letters, counting, playing with trucks and diggers of all kinds, and more than anything simply being outside.

Enjoying her magnadoodle

Making some 'humus' in her kitchen.

When you wake up and check the bedroom camera to see what the toddler is up to, and decide the extra minutes of sleep are worth the mess that will need to be cleaned up.

First time out on the bike!

If you ever made/gave a blanket to Kenna-Rae and wonder if it got used, the answer is definitely YES! She loves her blanket and stuffie nest building.

Construction update: Slowest moving project ever....

As for us, I started my leave from work on May 1, and plan on staying off until January 2022. Aaron started his holiday time May 24 and returns to work at the end of June. He will start his 9 month paternity leave in September. We are also resuming with our awesome Nanny Tabitha, who we plan to keep on until Aaron's retirement in 5 years. We have been so happy with her and the connection she and Kenna-Rae have. And now we wait for baby to arrive....

April 2021

It is so hard to believe Kenna-Rae is nearly 2! The last of her molars have started making their way up, and she has nicely settled into her new bedroom and big girl bed. We have had a beautiful April and been able to send a lot of time outside as a family which has been lovely.

How many hairbands can one fit in their hair?

Easter time! This year I put finger puppets in the eggs for Kenna-Rae to find.

Kenna-Rae loved her new bunny and decided to call her Sassy

A walk in Beaverlodge Lands

Zoom Zoom!

Getting ready to add baby sisters infant car seat, we have now turned Kenna-Rae's seat around and she is enjoying seeing so much more action around her.

All anyone needs is a comfy wagon and good book, right?

The Spit has become one of our favourite places to visit, and Kenna-Rae loves saying hi to the driftwood cougar when we are there.

Learning how to do puzzles

A lovely afternoon at the spit

Kenna-Rae loves making nests out of blankets

Making the most of another warm sunny day with a walk along the Campbell River trails.

Garage update: Aaron got the ceiling and walls painted and the flooring was installed.

Lumber for the deck behind the garage that will hold the shed.

Progress on the basement kitchen. The patch below the new window has been done and the sink is being moved to below the window.

Cabinets in progress

Hopefully May brings the final details to all the projects!
