Sleepover with the Nephews

The boys didn't have school on Thursday so we got to have a sleepover. We played some go fish and I taught the boys how to play Monopoly, which they loved!

Aaron was working night shift, so we made morning plans to be out of the house while he was sleeping. we went ice skating, and practically had the ice to ourselves. I think it had been a good 15-20 years since I last put on skates so it was interesting, but I didn't fall!

We arrived back from skating, and Aaron had just gotten home from work. Luckily that meant the boys could learn another new game. Aaron's Mom had brought over Crokinole, so Aaron could teach the boys how to play.

We had lots of fun and look forward to the next time we can have a sleepover. This is the best part about being back in the River City!

Tyee Spit

The weather was lovely this week and I took advantage of the sunshine and went down to Tyee Spit, which is one of my favourite places here in Campbell River.

Gold River

Aaron I went on a little trip out to Gold River today. We had planned on going to Tahsis, but unfortunately a great deal of snow fell last night so the road wasn't passable. What a beautiful place!

Christmas 2017

Somehow Christmas snuck up on us this year. I am not really sur what hapened to 2017???
Aaron decorated to get into the holiday swing of things and I sipped on some eggnog.

Aaron's mom and Jim came for the holidays, so I did a little baking.
Almond Shortbread Thumbprint

 Chocolate Crinkles

Lime Glazed Coconut Butter Cookies

Orange Glazed Cranberry Walnut Cookies

Christmas Eve I took Kane and Kole out for a hot chocolate.

On Christmas Day, we had my mom Aaron's mom Pat, Jim, Elizabeth, and my dad for dinner.

Aaron cooked a perfect turkey!

 Time to dish up!

It was great to have Christmas dinner in our new home!

Port Hardy

Aaron had been asked to play goal for the Campbell River Old Timers in Port Hardy, and I was extra excited not only because it's been nearly two decades since I was last in Port Hardy, but because it provided and opportunity to see my friend Christine and her awesome family.

Saturday morning we were off!
Along the way we stopped in Sayward for a visit with my Grandpa & Grandma.

I was the only spouse who came for the trip so I had my cheering cut out for me.

Sunday morning we walked with Christine and her family along the Quatse Loop. It was a beautiful walk, and I can just imagine how even more gorgeous it is in the summer or fall.
