Christmas 2016

This year we headed up to Campbell River for Christmas weekend.

Koloa was not very impressed with my holiday hat attempt.  This look didn't last very long.

We headed up Christmas Eve with a brief stop in Nanaimo to observe the craziness of the season.

We made a quick stop at Mom's to be there for Kane & Kole opening their gifts from Grandma.

Then we week off for Christmas Eve dinner at Dad's.  Grandma joined us again this year for the festivities.

Christmas Day we spent the day with Mom at Yucalta Lodge.  Grandpa joined us this year, and it was our first Christmas together which was pretty special.

We had a Facetime with Auntie Diana & the Arbeau crew.

For the third year we ordered Chinese food to break up the turkey overload.

After spending the day with Mom we were off to catch a movie, Rogue One.  It was great!  Chinese food & a movie, that's my kind of Christmas!!!

Boxing Day we went to Dad's for waffles with strawberries & whipped cream. YUM!

Then we headed over to see Aaron's Aunt Dawn & John & enjoyed some clam chowder & biscuits for lunch.  It was a nice warm up before hitting the snowy drive home.

A Visit From the Nephews

Friday I headed north to pick up my awesome nephews, Kane & Kole.  We were all very excited for a weekend of adventure together.  We got home in time for a delicious pizza dinner (balanced out by cut up veggies of course).

An unusual sight in our home...

Then it was time for popcorn and a movie.  Kane & Kole each brought a movie, Kane's choice had the first night with Into the Woods.

Of the cats, Ilo was the one who was tolerant of these new creatures with boundless energy.  The other 2 found very good hiding places for the weekend, lol.

Saturday morning our first stop was at the Ladysmith Playground to burn off some energy.

Then were off to the Raptor Centre to check out the Birds of Prey.  It was a pretty cool experience and we all enjoyed the live demonstration.  At one point the birds got so close the boys had to duck!

After the Raptors we headed over to the Forestry Discovery Centre.

After heading home for a little rest, we were off to the Ladysmith Waterpark

After the Water Park it was time for dinner and to wash the salt water off.

Kane wanted to make a power point with pictures of the day.  Smart boy, he knows more about power point than me!

Then we watched Kole's movie of choice Hulk and then it was time for bed.  EPIC day!

Sunday the boys wanted to do a little recording in the music room. I snuck in and recorded them, but it turns out the video is sideways, which is a bummer!  Then it was time for one final picture with all 4 of us and then the boys and I were off to Parksville.

In Parksville we went to Paradise Fun Park.

Before you knew it Ray arrived to pick up the boys and our weekend of adventure was coming to an end.  We had SO much fun and look forward to doing it again:)
