Vacation - Inland California & Oregon

Yosemite was definitely 1 of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

Shortly after this picture was taken we got caught in a thunder & lightning storm and a crazy downpour. We were soaking wet! Fortunately we had our luggage in the car and were able to change:)

After drying off from our Yosemite adventure we were off to Sacramento.
Here's some shots of the old town...

We left Sacramento & headed for Oregon the coast to Reedsport
for lunch with Aaron's cousin Denny & wife Penny.
Afterward we headed north along the coast... Finally no fog!

We stayed the night in Lincoln City & really scored with our hotel!
You can guess how I spent the night:D

We continued north up the coast to Astoria & then headed over to Portland. Then it was back south to Salem so we could meet the Chamberlin crew for out cemetery clean up & planning.
We all met in Monmouth at a nearby park for some lunch before heading up to the cemetery.

Aaron, Charlotte, Denny, Kylie, and Connie

The Chamberlin property, which is now only 400 acres.

Hiking up the hill to the Chamberlin Cemetery, which is a historical site.

Aaron's Great great great grandmother Catherine Chamberlin's headstone.

Then we took some time to tidy up by cutting the blackberry brambles & cutting the grass around the headstones.

Charlotte talking about the history of the land & the Chamberlin family.
The Chamberlin's came to Oregon as part of the original Oregon Trail.

One last shot of the Chamberlin crew before heading out.

Kylie & I took the opportunity to enjoy some blackberries:)

It was really great meeting more of Aaron's family & what an amazing group of people!
The similarities among them are freaky! Guess you can't fight genetics...

That night we made it as far as Tacoma Washington, and the next day we were back in Canada.
No pictures because what fun is the I-5?

All & all it was an awesome holiday & I would do it again in a heartbeat!
