Maui Part 1

We got out of Campbell River just as a snow storm was hitting, and arrived in Maui just ahead of a precedent setting storm. The first 2 days we got out very little as there was 95kmh+ winds with the power going in & out. The mountains even saw snow at the lowest recorded 6000 ft. All the beaches were closed, and lots of debris was falling into roadways. We did get out briefly for a Costco & Walmart run, but quickly headed back to the house where we knew we'd be safe. And thankfully with the generator we didn't have to go without power, which unfortunately many people did.

Some Costco favs...

Our third day we got out for a little jaunt as weather was still spotty and still very windy. Haleakala State Park was closed due to the weather, but we thought we'd see something new and went to the Iao Valley to see the Iao Needle. It was a lovely site seeing stop, and we got lucky and had the sun shining while we were there. No comments about my pasty white skin! And to start off this picture is for those who have been requesting the elusive bump picture...

The Iao Needle

After enjoying some time in the Iao Valley we headed out to Lahaina, where we were sure to see some sunshine and get to spend some time enjoying the wonder of the banyan tree. I love this place, and the tree extends throughout the entire park, it's quite a magical place.

Yesterday we knew there was a wind warning and rain in the forecast so we planned a car ride to Hana, with a stop in Ke'anae along the way.

Still in the catch up of posting... During the Christmas break Aaron and I took Kane & Kole to Mount Washington to go tubing. Fun times!!!!!

Campbell River Hockey Tourney

I haven't been posting on my blog very much and decided it's time to change that. I am going to do a few posts to catch up, and moving forward will be posting more regularly.

This post is a recent local hockey tournament my nephew Kole was in. Their team won the tournament, and Kole got tourney MVP.

Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse

It has been a REALLY long time since I posted, so I thought I would share some pictures my sweetie took of the amazing Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse last night. He bought me an awesome new camera the Sony CX6300 and a fabulous telephoto lens. We love taking photos of wildlife, especially eagles and will be making the most of this awesome camera for sure! He set up the tripod on the sundeck and took about an hour playing around with various manual settings (something I still need to learn how to do). So enjoy some pictures of that gorgeous moon we had last night...
