Arizona Vacation

We flew from Bellingham in to Mesa Airport in Phoenix &
headed for Sedona for a couple of days.

This is a typical Sedona sight...

The church that is built into the rocks

Exploring Tlaquepaque

Hiking Coffee Pot & Sugarloaf Loop

On to Flagstaff
Home of squirrels the size of small dogs.

From Flagstaff we did a day trip to the Grand Canyon

A whole lots of nothing...

Then there it is beauty beyond words...

Nothing quite as amazing as taking in a sunset at the Grand Canyon

After Flagstaff we headed back to Phoenix & explored along the way...
Jerome
My favourite little town on the trip. I wish we had more time there to explore, but next time...

We headed to Phoenix to catch a Spring Training Game in Goodyear,
where we watched Team Canada play the Cincinnati Reds.

Aaron got an autograph from Adam Loewen, one of the Toronto Blue Jays

The next day we were off to Yuma to visit some friends.
It was a long desert drive, and then out of nowhere there were mountains.

We woke up in Yuma to stormy weather not unlike back home &
we were heading back to Phoenix for our last night.

Then we rolled into a dust storm

After the dust storm we encounter a lightning storm, but unfortunately there are no pictures of that.
I must say, it was pretty cool!

It was so windy the birds were clinging to the tree for dear life

We left stormy Phoenix & arrived home to beautiful sunny skies.

Arizona was a great state to explore & we definitely plan on returning in the not too distant future.
