2 Posts in 1 ~ The big move & spring has sprung!

Moving day finally arrived and I wasn't broken hearted saying goodbye to the cold snowy north.

Day 1 Tsay Keh Dene to Prince George.
We left Tsay Keh Dene at midnight so due to driving in utter darkness I didn't take any pictures.
We arrived in Pg around 8:30am, I was off to bed & Aaron picked up the Uhaul trailer & had some help loading it up.

Day 2 Prince George to Ladysmith.
We woke up at 7am to snow in Prince George and were ready to get going,
determined to be on the road by 9am.
With the Uhaul loaded & the kitties tucked away in the truck we were ready to roll.
We made really good time & decided to just go all the way catching the 8pm Tsawassen ferry, arriving in Ladysmith just before 11pm. That was a long haul!

The cats traveled surprisingly well.
Ilo just got comfy on the console between Aaron & I. Koloa hid under the blanket on the seat.

Finally on the ferry:)

Here is a mini tour of Ladysmith...

Our cozy new home:)
Now keep in mind over half of our stuff is still up north with Aaron so the house is pretty
empty & there isn't much hanging up on the walls.

There's room for our little kitchen table.

Spare Bedroom
Not much in here yet other than a bed!

Laundry Room

Not sure what to do with this room yet, but for now it's where the cat litter boxes & recycling go.

Back yard

Well the sun was shining and it finally felt like Spring had arrived. I grabbed the camera & poked around the yard enjoying what there was to offer.

Then I decided to go down to the ocean. I checked out Transfer Beach Park & Shell Beach.
Shell Beach was amazing! As soon as I walked down I could see 2 eagles in a nearby tree.
With the herring run right now the bay was bustling with activity.
The birds & seals were enjoying a buffet. Many people were taking in the view and activity.
This is a beach I will definitely be returning to!

Hopefully they find a replacement for Aaron soon & he can join the kitties
& myself in our new wonderful home:)
We miss you Aaron!

Goodbye Tsay Keh Dene

Well my time in Tsay Keh Dene is coming to an end. We went done to the lake for one last little rip around on the Skidoo.

I just love the way the snow sparkles in the sun like it is bathed in diamonds. It's so beautiful!
Well moving day is in 2 days & then I will be returning home to the island.
Goodbye snowy north!

Another Spectacular Tsay Keh Sunrise

This sunrise was taken over a 20 minute time lapse. The fog hanging over the mountains,
and the beautiful colours were just sensational.
Aaron took the first 3 photos, which I didn't know until I told him the sunrise was beautiful & I took a couple pictures. I guess we both appreciate the beauty of this place.

The 3 pictures I took.
I thought this was beautiful but I guess I missed the real colourful part of the sunrise.

That takes my breath away.

-40 Celsius or Fahrenheit?

Okay, so I feel like a baby thinking -15 was cold.
A few weeks ago temperatures here dipped down to -40. EEK!
Did you know that -40 Celsius is the same as -40 Fahrenheit?
I opened the blinds in the morning & could barely see out the window with all the ice build up.

Just before sunrise I took a step outside.

- 35 before the wind chill

Now that's cold!

The last couple of weeks have been strangely warm, especially after that deep freeze.
Yesterday it was even +5! The snow has been melting off the rooves & making amazing icicles.

Around here we barbecue all year long...

Today it is -5 which is a pretty comfortable temperature.
The sun is shining & it is shaping up to be a beautiful day.

A beautiful sunny day tend to lead to amazing reflections at sunset...
Here's what I got to watch as I cooked dinner tonight:)

As my time here is coming to an end I am making sure to soak up every ounce
of beauty I can before I am gone.

Back to the Snowy North

I was feeling over due for a blog post.
It's really cold out there!
We have so much snow it's almost to the tops of the trees...
just kidding...

There is however frost on the outside & inside of the window.

A little sunshine pops through between snowfalls.

This is before the wind chill, which is definitely present today!

I didn't take many pictures over the holiday season,
but here are the Christmas Eve shots from when my nephews came over.
It was my first Christmas with them & I was pretty excited!

The troops arrive!

Kane shows Papa the picture he painted for him.

Dinner time:)

The group photo (minus Aaron who is taking the picture).

Present time...

Auntie playing with my awesome nephews:D

I loved every minute of it!
