My good friend from University Kim was working at the Khutsedzi k' e' Camp with Matt after I left. (I'm not sure she'll ever forgive me for roping her into that haha). After they got out we spent a night in Fort Ware & then headed to Tsay Keh.
Kim & I went quadding to Ingenika the old town site that was flooded.
Along the way we saw a big beaver. At first I thought it was a bear and madly went in reverse to get as far away as possible. Maybe some residual trauma from the 'Bear Mountain' incident...

Unfortunately right after I took these pictures my camera died (I did however go back to Ingenika on my own a few days later & the pictures are at the bottom of this post).
July 31 was Christmas in July!!!!
Oh tuuuuurkey!

The following day we had a turkey hang over & decided to burn it off &
Kim & I went kayaking on my favorite Blue Lake.

The next day Aaron, Matt, Kim, & I went quadding up 15,000 road looking for berries.
Unfortunately it's still a little too early for the berries:(

In the evening we had a fire in the backyard, ate smores,
Matt played his guitar, & Kim & I drummed & sang.

There was a group of youth having a fire near the field & they clapped & cheered for us which was pretty cool. I'm sure we were the talk of the rez for the remainder of the evening.
Before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye to my friends.
It was hard letting them go, but I know I will see them again...
just not in Tsay Keh...

I went back to Ingenika to take some pictures, since my camera died when Kim & I were quadding. Here are the pictures I took on my little solo journey.

The land in Ingenika has a very sad and lonely feel to it.
I think this next photo perfectly captures the sadness that once was Ingenika.

I nearly missed this place hidden in the trees, until I saw a little bit of fence. This particular place had a really eerie feel to it. I had an unwelcome feeling that I wasn't alone & got out of there...

On my way back to Tsay Keh I was cruising along & a bear jumped out right in front of me. It paused for a moment and we stared at each other. I jammed on the brakes and when I came within 2 feet of the bear it ran off. It was a pretty fair sized bear, but please forgive me I didn't get any pictures. After the last bear incident I wasn't hanging around.
